What happens during a facial wax?
Your esthetician cleans the skin first, then applies powder to ensure every hair is caught. The wax goes on, pulls the hair from the root, and we finish by tending to your skin so you leave clean and bump-free. The whole thing is fast and straightforward.
Does facial waxing hurt?
There’s a quick sting when the wax is removed, but it’s brief and very manageable for most people. If you have sensitive skin, avoid topical acids, retinoids, and vitamin A and C products for a few days before your appointment. That helps keep any reaction minimal.
How often should I come in?
Every two to three weeks works well for most clients. It depends on how fast your hair grows, but that window tends to catch hair at the right length for the best results.
Can men get facial waxing?
Absolutely. Waxing is a fast, effective way to clean up brows, tidy the upper cheek area, or sharpen a beard line. Many of our male clients come in regularly for brow cleanups and find it easier than trying to achieve a clean line at home.
Is there anything I should avoid before or after my wax?
Before your appointment, skip topical acids, retinoids, and vitamin A and C products for a few days. After your wax, keep the area clean and avoid heavy makeup, sun exposure, and anything that might irritate freshly waxed skin for 24 hours. Your esthetician will walk you through it before you leave.
