What Is Laser Hair Reduction?

At Sunflower Spa, we use the Cynosure® Apogee Elite™ laser, a trusted device known for its precision and comfort across a wide range of skin tones. Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap, less uncomfortable than waxing, and with results that last years rather than days.
A few things to know going in: laser hair reduction works best on dark hair with dark roots (black or brown). Results on blonde, gray, or red hair may be limited. We’ll assess your hair and skin at your consultation and give you an honest picture of what to expect.

We’ll look at your hair color, skin tone, and the area you’d like treated to make sure you’re a good candidate. We’ll walk you through how many sessions to expect and what results you can expect. There’s a $50 consultation fee. It goes toward any service or product when you’re ready.
Your Treatment
Each session targets hair in its active growth phase. Most areas take 20 to 50 minutes per session. You’ll feel a quick snap of sensation, and we can apply a cooling agent to minimize discomfort. Most clients return to normal activities the same day.
Your Series
Laser hair reduction requires a series of sessions, typically six to twelve, spaced four apart, to catch each hair at the right growth stage. Annual touch-ups may be recommended after your initial series.
Your Results
Most clients see an 80-90% reduction in hair growth after completing one to two series of treatments. Results are long-lasting and, for most clients, permanent, barring significant hormonal changes, which can sometimes cause regrowth.
