What is Juvéderm®?
Dermal fillers are injectable solutions that fill in the soft tissue under the skin, improving signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and volume loss. They can also be used to augment different areas of the face, such as the chin and cheeks, to improve the profile and enhance the contours of the face.
At Sunflower Spa, our Aesthetic Injectors use the Juvéderm® line of fillers, composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally-occurring substance in the body. Each is formulated to address a specific concern in a specific area, for example, Juvéderm® VOLUMA™ for volume loss in the cheeks. This allows us to create a truly customizable experience and enables us to tailor your treatment plan to your unique needs.
What Does Juvéderm® Treat?
The Juvéderm family of fillers treats a variety of aesthetic concerns:
- Juvéderm® VOLUMA™ XC is used to restore lost volume in the cheeks and to augment the chin area for an improved profile.
- Juvéderm® VOLLURE™ XC and Juvéderm® XC are used to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and smile lines.
- Juvéderm® VOLBELLA™ XC is used to augment the lip area, including lines above the mouth (perioral lines or “lipstick lines”).
- Juvéderm® Ultra XC is used to plump and add volume to the lips.

Is Juvéderm® Safe?
Juvéderm® was approved by the FDA in 2006 and has a long track record of safety. It’s one of the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedures, although, like any injectable, it’s safest and most effective in the hands of a skilled injector like our estheticians at Sunflower Spa, who are committed to providing you with natural-looking, not “overdone,” results. Side effects can include redness, itching, or swelling at the injection sites, but these resolve quickly and there’s no downtime associated with Juvéderm®.
When Will I See Results, and How Long Will They Last?
Since HA is a substance found in our bodies, it’s naturally reabsorbed over time. Results from Juvéderm® and Juvéderm® VOLUMA™ fillers are noticeable immediately and can last anywhere from one to two years depending on a variety of factors individual to you, but we will be able to give you a better idea of how often you’ll need treatments at your consultation.
